German ambassador frightened by attack on Hürriyet columnist

ANKARA
German ambassador frightened by attack on Hürriyet columnist German Ambassador to Ankara Martin Erdmann said he was frightened with the assault on Hürriyet journalist Ahmet Hakan.

In a written statement on Nov. 2, the ambassador said he had confidence in the Turkish judiciary that the incident would be enlightened and perpetrators would be punished accordingly. 

The ambassador extended a get well message for Hakan.

The veteran journalist was injured in an assault in front of his home, after an intense campaign of intimidation and slander by pro-government media.
