Gendarmerie forces have found a Russian-made DShK anti-aircraft weapon - nicknamed "Doçka" in Turkish - buried in an empty field in the northwestern province of Kocaeli, broadcaster NTV reported on its website today.

Gendarmerie forces, supervised by a public prosecutor, conducted a dig near a factory belonging to Unilever in Kocaeli's Gebze district after a group of children who collected waste paper and scrap metal noticed a partly buried gun barrel next to a garbage bin and notified the authorities.

One DShK anti-aircraft gun and its munitions were found buried in the ground, along with several AK-47 assault rifles, rocket launchers and their munitions. The gendarmerie have taken the footage from security cameras of the nearby factory in order to find the people who hid the weapons.
