Five Turkish soldiers killed in northern Syria Five Turkish soldiers were killed in an Islamic State Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) attack on Feb. 9 during the ongoing Euphrates Shield operation in northern Syria, Doğan News Agency has reported.

The Turkish Armed Forces announced that two soldiers were killed early on Feb. 9.

The bodies of the soldiers have been taken to the southeastern province of Gaziantep.  

Another five Turkish soldiers were killed and 15 others were wounded in an Islamic State Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) attack on Feb. 8.

The wounded soldiers, who were reported to be in a stable condition, have been taken to hospital.
