Five planes of Turkey's flag carrier airline, Turkish Airlines (THY), were searched for explosives at Istanbul's Atatürk Airport on the evening of Aug. 14 after a bomb warning.

All five planes searched by police experts were flying to German cities - Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Stuttgart - Doğan news agency reported. Passengers were evacuated and baggage was unloaded for the inspection.

The flights were delayed several hours.
