Fidan meets Turkmen president

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow received Hakan Fidan, undersecretary of the Turkish National Intelligence Agency (MİT), in Ashkhabad May 15.

 During the meeting, Fidan highlighted the importance of a broad cooperation between Turkey and Turkmenistan, and said Turkey welcomed Turkmenistan’s role in preserving political balance, peace and stability in the region.

 Fidan said the world was supporting Turkmenistan’s reforms to diversify its economy and raise the level of welfare of its people. Berdimuhamedov, for his part, said Turkmenistan and Turkey had an efficient and high-level cooperation on political, commercial, economic, cultural and humanitarian issues.

President Berdimuhamedow and Fidan discussed international and regional problems in their meeting, and agreed to share intelligence.
