‘Fetih 1453’ receives ‘R’ rating in Germany
AA photoGermany has prohibited the presentation of Turkish film “Fetih 1453” to viewers under the age of 16, according to daily Milliyet.
Turkish immigrants in Germany, more than 104,000 of whom went to see the film about the conquest of Istanbul during the first three days of its release, have complained that they were unable to bring their children along.
“If we had been able to bring our children to see the film, it’s premiere in Germany would have been much more successful,” one viewer said.
“Fetih 1453,” which premiered Feb. 16 in Turkey, garnered an estimated record-breaking 12 million Turkish Liras at the box office in just four days, according to daily Milliyet. The film was shown in 850 cinemas around the country, reportedly drawing over 1 million people.
