Fenerbahçe signs Raul Meireles

Fenerbahçe have struck a deal with Portuguese midfielder Raul Meireles from English Premier League side Chelsea, the team notified the Istanbul stock exchange today. 
 
The Turkish team has reached an agreement "on every matter" with the 29-year-old player, daily Hürriyet reported on its website today. 
 
Fenerbahçe had been trying to fill a gap in its midfield ever since Emre Belözoğlu left the team for Spain's Atletico Madrid. 
 
Meireles is known for never having received a red card in his career.
