AA photoLast-gasp road victories are turning into a habit for Fenerbahçe, as the Yellow Canaries have pulled tonight another of such wins against Antalyaspor thanks to a 90th minute goal from Moussa Sow to stay on top of the Turkish Super League.
Pierre Webo struck with Fenerbahçe’s first chance on goal in the 5th minute following a low cross delivered by Gökhan Gönül. Antalyaspor, which has displayed an inconsistent performance so far this season, found the equalizer right before the break with Lamina Diarra’s shot from short-range finding its way just under the crossbar.
However it was another Senegalese striker, Moussa Sow, who would have the last word in the game. In the 90th minute Emmanuel Emenike stormed into Antalyaspor’s area, got passed two defenders before serving the ball to Fenerbahçe’s top scorer last season, who fired it into the net, sealing the three points.
Already victorious thanks to last minute goals against Kasımpaşa, Kayseri Erciyesspor and Bursaspor, Fenerbahçe has obtained its fourth last-gasp road victory to move to 31 points and keep its rivals at bay on the tables.
Elsewhere, Trabzonspor edged Eskişehirspor 1-0 at home with a solitary goal from Paulo Henrique in the 75th minute to increase its points to 20 and keep in touch with the leading pack.
An erratic Galatasaray climbed to fourth after a 2-1 victory against Sivasspor on Nov. 23 with goals from Burak Yılmaz and Selçuk İnan. The Lions sum 22 points, the same as the Central Anatolians, who remain at third with a better goal difference. Kasımpaşa maintains second place with 25 points despite having its first draw of the season against Bursaspor with a 1-1 score on the road.
Beşiktaş, at 21 points, will look to move up to the podium and end their home game jinx against Konyaspor on Nov. 25 in a match in the presence of women and children only, due to a ban on male supporters following the eventful Galatasaray derby.
