!f Istanbul calls for submissions

The application process has started for the 13th !f Istanbul International Independent Film Festival.

According to a written statement by the festival committee, the festival will take place in Istanbul between Feb. 13 and 23, 2014, before moving to Ankara and İzmir between Feb. 27 and March 2. Feature films as well as documentaries and short films can apply to the festival.

Among these films, one will compete in “Keş!if” competition in the festival, which will be evaluated by an international jury, with the winner getting an award of $15,000.

The festival’s “Shorts from Turkey” category includes films proposed by directors and producers, and any film produced in 2013 can be nominated in this category. The selected films will be screened for free in Istanbul, Ankara and İzmir movie theaters.

The deadline for submissions to the festival is Nov. 29.
