Documentary on ‘1968 generation’ at SALT Galata

ISTANBUL
Documentary on ‘1968 generation’ at SALT Galata The premiere of a documentary on the global 1968 student protests, titled “Generacija ‘68” (Generation ’68), will be held at the SALT Galata Auditorium on Sept. 21, the International Day of Peace.

A reflection on the generation involved in the 1968 protests, Nenad Puhovski’s “Generacija ‘68” gives a personal account of the director’s experiences as part of the generation that enthusiastically embraced the notion of revolution at the time.

Focusing on the social upheavals that occurred in 1968 in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, the documentary traces the movement’s impact on future generations.

As described in the documentary, Puhovski rejects the notion that the ideals of 1968 were unworkable, suggesting that future generations will present more, similarly idealistic concepts.

A Q&A session with Puhovski will follow the screening, which will be free of charge and start at 7 p.m.
