A dismantled plane, which has reached its flight limits, will be used as a restaurant in the town of Edremit, located in the western province of Balıkkesir.

The plane’s transformation into a restaurant began when a private aviation company bought the Airbus A340 plane from Turkish Airlines (THY). The plane was first dismantled into eight parts in Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport.

Then, seven parts of the plane were carried by seven trucks to Edremit where all parts will be united again.
Security vehicles escorted the trucks as they left the Atatürk Airport in snowy weather.

Mehmet Emin Ertemel, an official from the private aviation company, said it took one month to dismantle the plane. He noted that the plane’s journey to Balıkesir will take three days. The plane will serve its customers now as a restaurant in the area near the Edremit Kocaseyit Airport.
