Detention sought for 121 members of Turkish charity over Gülen links

The chief prosecutor of Istanbul issued ordered the detention of 121 alleged members of a relief organization on suspicion of having links to the outlawed Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ), following the failed coup attempt of July 15, the prosecutor’s office announced on Sept. 27.Police launched raids at addresses in 18 provinces across Turkey to detain members of the humanitarian aid organization “Kimse Yok Mu” (Is Nobody There?) including its director, İsmail Cingöz.
Police have so far detained 41 suspects, though 77 suspects were reportedly abroad and two have already been arrested as part of other investigations.
The suspects are accused of being members of an armed terrorist organization, violating the terror financing law, laundering illegally acquired properties, and contravening the law of associations.
The charity has for several years collected money from people for the Eid al-Adha religious holiday.
