Two Turkish hotels included in prestigious list

Two hotels in Turkey, Witt Istanbul Suites and Hillside Su in the southern province of Antalya, were included in the prestigious 'Insiders’ Select' 2011 list of Expedia.

Two hotels in Turkey, Witt Istanbul Suites and Hillside Su in the southern province of Antalya, were included in the prestigious “Insiders’ Select” 2011 list of Expedia, a prominent online travel company based in the United States.

The ranking is determined primarily by Expedia customer reviews. Every year more than 500,000 reviews are submitted, verified and analyzed to compile the Insider’s Select list, according to a press release by the agency.

“The 2011 Insiders’ Select List reflects that collective wisdom. We hope to see more and more hotels from Turkey on the list every year,” said Expedia Turkey Market Management Director Marilena Zagana in the release.

Cedarbrook Lodge, a Seattle based hotel, topped this year’s list. Witt Istanbul Suites ranked 90th across the world, while Hillside Su took a place in the broader top 500 list, as the list only ranks hotels in order in the top 100.

“For marketing, we depend only on our guests' recommendations. The only downside of the award may be that the expectations from us will increase, but we guess we can manage,” Witt Istanbul Suites said in the press release.

“Hillside Su will proudly embrace such an important award as the Expedia Insider’s Select, one of the opinion leaders of the travel organization,” said the management of the hotel.

Three components were considered when ranking hotels: customer reviews, market manager input and value rating.

The Insiders’ Select program debuted in 2007.
