Two Turkish soldiers were shot dead by a third soldier in the southwestern province of Muğla on Wednesday, news agencies reported.
The incident took place at the Air Radar Range Command near the town of Datça in Muğla province.
Private A.K., who was on night watch duty, reportedly went to the barracks and killed two soldiers who were sleeping on their beds. The victims, Privates Ömür Canca, who was shot in the head and shoulder, and Tevfik Cebeci, who was shot in the stomach and chest, both died at the scene.
A.K. was detained after the incident and the bodies were sent to a forensics lab for autopsies. The three privates had allegedly been quarreling about rank over the last few days, Doğan news agency reported.
