A dump truck hit a pedestrian overpass, bringing traffic on the E5 to a halt and injuring one person in a district of Istanbul.
A dump truck lost control and smashed into a pedestrian overpass in Istanbul’s Beylikdüzü district on Monday, injuring one person and causing severe traffic delays.
Southbound traffic from the northwestern province of Edirne to Istanbul on the E5 motorway was brought to a halt after the truck hit a pillar under the overpass and caused a partial collapse of the structure. The concrete debris did not damage any vehicles.
One pedestrian, Hüsnü Balkanlı, 51, was on the flyover at the time and was injured, but not severely.
