Within the scope of the “Portable Art” project, carried out by the Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency’s Visual Art Directorate, the “Amber Selection” opened at Ümraniye Atakent Cultural Center.
The exhibition, curated by Ekmel Ertan, questions the evolution of man unable to live without technology.
Composed of works produced since 2007 within the “amber project,” the exhibition “Amber Seçkisi” (Amber Selection) is the 10th exhibition of the series.
The project aims to help contemporary art reach those regions of the city that normally do not have easy access to art.
The exhibition includes the works of artists such as Ali Miharbi, the duo Mahir Yavuz and Ebru Kurbak, Nagehan Kural, Selin Özçelik and also by curator Ertan, as well as works by Luca Feril and the Body-Process Arts Association (BİS), the organizers of the Amber Festival.
It brings together art and science and can be viewed through July 16.
