TTNET, a broadband operator of Turkey's biggest fixed-line operator Türk Telekom, presented its new product, Tivibu, which combines television and cinema.

TTNET, a broadband operator of Turkey's biggest fixed-line operator Türk Telekom, presented Wednesday its new product, Tivibu, which combines television and cinema.

"This is a new era for us. Now we are more than an Internet operator,” said Tahsin Yılmaz, managing director of TTNET.

"TTNET aims to meet all communication needs of its clients by combining Internet, television, cinema and telephone services in one," said Yılmaz, adding that with Tivibu service, TTNET clients will be able to reach all television programs whether they are live or not.

"People can use the Tivibu service to watch television. They can also watch movies via Tivibu's large movie archive. It is also possible to pause, stop, rewind and forward the broadcast," he said. Tivibu service is a downloadable program available at www.tivibu.com.tr, he added. "People who want to download it, can enter the Web site and create their own username and password and then begin to use the program as they want. The price of that service is set at 1 Turkish Liras per month," said Yılmaz.

There are two ways to use Tivibu, first one is with mobile phones, such as the Iphone, and the second is with computers, he said.

Recalling that TTNET currently has more than 5.7 million ADSL clients, Yılmaz said, "For us, it is important to reach all of them and make them Tivibu users. That's why our economic target is high."

"Before Tivibu, television dominated people's lives. Now people will dominate and direct television as they want."

Commenting on the advertisement opportunities for Tivibu, Yılmaz said the company also has plans. "Tivibu enables us to accept advertising on any platform," he said.

Murat Onuk, vice general director responsible for marketing, said, "Currently there are 61 channels on Tivibu and we are aiming to increase this figure."

"Tivibu is the first service of TTNET's ‘YES’ campaign vision, and while we will continue to expand our services on the Internet with various broadband services, we will also continue to develop our other services, such as Tivibu," said Onuk.
