LC Waikiki aims to be best in Europe

Tema Holding, the company behind apparel brand LC Waikiki, aims to expand in the global marketplace, according to Şefik Dizdar, an executive board member.

LC Waikiki is the market leader in its sector in Turkey, Dizdar said, reminding that the brand has opened its first European store in Romania. “In Turkey, there are 257 LC Waikiki shops in 52 different cities, spreading over 230,000 square meters. We are the largest ready wear chain store in Turkey,” he said.

“Beginning from 2000, our group has grown by 40 percent annually on average. In 2007, the growth was 45 percent, while it stood at 46 percent in 2008. The group also increased its profits before tax by 43 percent,” said Dizdar. “Today, LC Waikiki is the essential destination of fashion with its women, men, children and baby collections.”

According to the Turkey Ready-Wear Consumption Index Report, LC Waikiki is the market leader in women, men and children segments since the summer of 2004, Dizdar said.

“Our main brand LC Waikiki, and sub-brands XSIDE and Southblue, address a wide customer base. We are also developing LC Waikiki in terms of collection and shop management,” he said. “We established our 800 square-meter shop in Romania with men, women and children collections, while we have also established a 400 square-meter XSIDE shop with women, men and youth collections. Tema Group aims to be the key fashion address in Romania, just like it is in Turkey.”

Noting that in Romania the company plans to open 15 shops within one year, Dizdar said: “Beginning from 2012 we are planning to expand into international markets. Our main aim is to make LC Waikiki one of the best three brands in Europe. We want to create a brand and shop chain in the world.”
