Star point guard Deron Williams made his competitive European debut as he led Beşiktaş Milangaz to a victory in a ULEB Eurocup preliminary game Tuesday.

The New Jersey Nets forward, who joined the Turkish club during the NBA lockout, had 15 points and nine assists to lead Beşiktaş Milangaz past Dexia Mons-Hainaut 78-70 in the first leg of the preliminary.

Beşiktaş Milangaz guard Marcelus Kemp led all scorers with 24 points, while Zoran Erceg had 15 points.

Beşiktaş Milangaz had no Turkish players in the starting lineup, which was rounded out by David Hawkins and Erwin Dudley.

The return match in Belgium will be played next week.
