Culture and tourism summit in Ankara

The 2011 Culture Tourism Summit, the largest conference in Turkey of its kind, will be held on Dec. 23 and 24 in Ankara’s Sheraton Hotel. According to a written statement made by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, the theme of the summit will be “Open Air Museum Turkey.” The opening speech will be delivered by Mayor Melih Gökçek. 
The attendees of the summit will be representatives of the Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry, provincial culture and tourism directorates, travel agencies, reps from holiday villages and hotels, universities, nongovernmental organizations and media, as well as provincial mayors and tourism investors. 
The summit will open on Dec. 23 and will handle issues such as cultural tourism-related policies in Turkey, including examples from successful applications, an examination of cultural routes, the preservation of immovable cultural values, Tourism Strategy 2023, and the promotion and marketing of cultural tourism areas. 
The attendees will be hosted at Ankara Castle after visiting Hacı Bayram Mosque and the surrounding area.
