13 houses near the Vahdettin Mansion will be demolished will allegedly be demolished as part of the plans to convert the mansion into Erdoğan's office.

Main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) Istanbul deputy İhsan Özkes has filed a parliamentary motion regarding the decision to demolish 13 houses near Vahdettin Mansion, located in Istanbul’s Çengelköy neighborhood.

Özkes asked whether the claims that the 13 houses near the Vahdettin Mansion will be demolished are true in his motion. Özkes also asked whether the mansion will be used as Erdoğan’s office.

The owners of the 13 buildings claimed they received notifications that their buildings would be demolished a few weeks ago. Meanwhile, daily Cumhuriyet reported July 10 Istanbul Greater Municipality officials claimed they were not informed about plans for demolition until the recent reports. The officials also reportedly told the house owners to file complaints against any such decisions after their story made headlines.
