CHP leader urges mayors to avoid prodigality

“You will avoid the prodigality, run to serve your civil duities. If you have a problem, you will deal with it,” Kılıçdaroğlu said on March 3 speaking at a rally in Ankara.

Elaborating on his expectation for the CHP candidates,  Kılıçdaroğlu mentioned three conditions. His first condition for the candidates is to not treat voters in the neighborhood based on their political choices, said the CHP leader. “Whether they vote for you or not, you will embrace them,” he said.

Kılıçdaroğlu stressed that municipalities should be careful in their spendings because that money “belongs the nation.”  “You have to give account of every penny,” he said.

Thirdly, Kılıçdaroğlu underlined the minimum wage in CHP municipalities should be 2,200 Turkish Liras.

“Do not make promises that you cannot meet. Don’t make promises if you cannot hold them,” he said speaking to his candidates.

The people of Turkey “want to live in peace under one roof with the same flag,” he said, rejecting a rhetoric that turns people against one another.

Turkey has enough problems including unemployment, he noted and advised not be pessimistic. “We must overcome all difficulties in all circumstances,” he stated. In response to the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) calling “Mr. Kemal” to undermine him, Kılıçdaroğlu said Mr. Kemal stands with the poor,” he said.

“Mr. Kemal is an honest and decent man,” he added.
