Chief of Staff denies reports of US Army team visit

Turkey's Chief of General Staff denied U.S. Army officials visited a Diyabakır air base in a statement released Oct.31, Anatolia news agency reported.

Earlier in the day, Doğan news agency had reported about 20 officials from the U.S. Army spent two days at the Diyarbakır air base in southeastern Turkey.

The air base itself will reportedly be used as a NATO base in possible Syria scenarios, Doğan news agency had said.
