Art museum Cer Modern will host series of literary discussions in English, focused on the work of four Turkish contemporary novelists

The Cer Modern art museum in Ankara is planning to host a series of literary discussions in English, focused on the work of four Turkish contemporary novelists representing different segments of Turkish society.
Participants in the discussions will analyze the works of Yaşar Kemal, Orhan Pamuk, Elif Şafak and İnci Aral, who come from different Turkish subcultures, with the goal of learning more about Turkish literature. Cer Modern hopes to create a platform for lovers of literature who speak English and themselves represent different countries and cultures. Participants will be able to share their thoughts, read their own work and be inspired by the work of others.

Short stories and novels
The general themes, thematic patterning and motifs in the novels and short stories of Kemal, Pamuk, Şafak and Aral (in English translation) will be discussed, as well as their treatment of the specific issues of memory, history, folklore, women, and real and fictitious journeys. Structuralist, psychoanalytic, feminist and historicist readings of the literary texts will be made in English.
The discussions will be held in three rounds. In the first round, an introductory speech about each of the above-mentioned prominent authors will be given, while
in the second round discussion will focus on one or two of their works. k HDN representing different segments of Turkish society.
