Capacity utility drops slightly in Turkey

The capacity utilization rate in the manufacturing sector dropped by 0.2 percent of a point to 74.7 percent in April 2012 when compared to the same month of 2011.The Central Bank announced yesterday that the capacity utilization rate had been 74.9 percent in April 2011, and 73.1 percent in March 2012.
The capacity utilization rates, calculated for the overall manufacturing industry and the sub-sectors, are the weighted averages of the actually realized capacity utilization rates of the respondent local units as per their physical capacities.
