Bulgarian rugby federation president Rosen Cholov has been indicted for pimping, prosecutors in Sofia announced yesterday.

Cholov, 41, was arrested on Monday and subsequently charged with “managing a criminal group for the recruitment of prostitutes and their trafficking for sexual exploitation,” the prosecution said.

The rugby chief and his gang provided women and even underage girls from a modelling agency they ran to rich Bulgarian clients at prices of 400-500 euros ($517-646) a night, it added. Cholov’s model wife gained popularity this year after appearing in a popular television series, where she played the part of the troubled ballerina girlfriend of a mafia boss.
