Bra adverts on billboards changed after conservative reaction in Turkey’s Kayseri

Advertisements showing a model wearing a bra, which had been put up on bus stop billboards in the Central Anatolian province of Kayseri, have been changed following an angry reaction from a conservative group blasting “immorality.”

A youth organization “Yedi Hilal” (Seven Crescents) in Kayseri had hit headlines by covering up the advertisements with banners reading: “Don’t rent out your eyes; our eyes are slaves.” The group also called on the Kayseri Municipality to remove the ads from the billboards, Doğan News Agency reported on Feb. 6.

Following the reaction, it was reported on Feb. 7 that new advertisements - featuring only the name of the brand without showing a model wearing the bra – had been put up in place of the old adverts.
