At least one person has been killed and another wounded in a blast at a nitrogen factory near the western Turkish province of Bursa, according to rescue officials.

The explosion occurred in a factory in the town of Gemlik early July 19. The reason of the explosion remains unknown.

Rescue workers from AKUT Search and Rescue Association and Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) said they found the body of one worker, Uğur Çavdar, under the wreckage.

The injured worker, Mustafa Karakol, was taken to the Gemlik Muammer Agım State Hospital. He told officials only two people were in the factory when the explosion occurred.
