Berlin’s jazz festival in Istanbul and Ankara
ISTANBUL
XJAZZ Festival, Berlin’s biggest jazz festival, will come to Istanbul and Ankara between April 12 and 17. The event, organized by Kabak & Lin Records and Not Under Comment with the support of Goethe Institute in Istanbul and Ankara, will present a lineup including Laia Genc & Istanbul Composers Orchestra, Erkan Oğur, the Selen Gülün Trio, Ediz Hafızoğlu ‘Nazdrave’ ft. Elif Çaglar Muslu and Sarp Maden, Barış Demirel Korhan Erel and Çağrı Erdem, Stefano Noferini and the Berlin x Istanbul Ensemble.
Berlin is internationally renowned for its strong vibes that’s why XJAZZ’s contemporary understanding of jazz music also covers electronically improvised music, new classical music, as well as singer and songwriter.
In the coming years, the festival plans to add other cities to its program besides Istanbul and Ankara.
