Banvit withstood a late Galatasaray rally and survived in the Beko Basketball League (TBL) final series on June 12.

Banvit beat the Lions 86-85 on June 12 to force the series to a fifth game. Galatasaray now leads the best-of-seven series 3-1.

The win ended Galatasaray’s 25-match winning streak. Banvit was the last team that beat Galatasaray, which has swept its previous playoff series.

Galatasaray can still win the league title with a win over Banvit in Istanbul’s Abdi İpekçi Arena in front of its home court fans tomorrow.

On June 12, Banvit was leading by 20 points but a late Galatasaray rally led by Jamont Gordon brought the game to the wire. However, Banvit survived a late scare to win the game.

Gordon scored 24 of his 34 points in the last quarter. Erwin Dudley added 15 points and six rebounds, while Cenk Akyol had 13 points.

Banvit’s Keith Simmons had 19 points, while Chuck Davis added 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
