Turkish woman dies due to attack by stray dogs

An autopsy report on the body of a Turkish woman has confirmed that the cause of her death was an attack by stray dogs in a vacant lot in the Central Anatolian province of Eskişehir, daily Hürriyet reported on March 16.The initial autopsy revealed that Erinç Pütün, 34, had died as a result of external bleeding due to dog bites.
Pütün’s backpack had been found approximately 500 meters from her dead body, with the police saying they had seen dog paw prints both where the backpack and the body were found. She was feeding the stray dogs at the time.
Pütün’s body was taken from the morgue at Eskişehir Osmangazi University Hospital (ESOGÜ) and brought to the Sami Ramazanoğlu Mosque in Eskişehir’s Vişnelik district over the weekend, and was buried after a funeral.
Main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) Deputy Chair Haluk Koç, Eskişehir Mayor Yılmaz Büyükerşen, and other members of the CHP attended the funeral.
