Turkish prosecutors on June 19 issued arrest warrants for 124 people over their suspected links to the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETO), according to security sources speaking to the state-run Anadolu Agency.

The group, led by U.S.-based cleric Fethullah Gülen, is widely believed to have been behind the July 2016 coup attempt.

The suspects are alleged "covert imams" of the group in the Turkish Armed Forces, according to judicial sources in the central Konya province, speaking to the agency on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

The suspects are being sought in simultaneous raids across 31 provinces, the statement said, adding that the operations are ongoing.
