Turkey to produce new indigenous defense systems

ANKARA

Turkey has been planning to launch fresh projects to produce new indigenous defense systems, according to a statement on April 18.

The Defense Industry Executive Committee also discussed the recent developments in the defense industry, read a statement released after the closed-door meeting.

Chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the meeting also saw the attendance of Treasury and Finance Minister Berat Albayrak, Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu, National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, Chief of General Staff

 Gen. Yaşar Güler and İsmail Demir, the head of Defense Industries Presidency, according to the state-run Anadolu Agency.
