Mobile operator Avea earns 1 billion liras in 2nd quarter

Turkey’s mobile operator Avea continued its double-digit growth for the ninth consecutive month, yielding more than 1 billion Turkish Liras in second quarter of this year.Avea’s income rose to more than 1 billion liras (around $520 million) in the second quarter with a 17 percent increase from the same period a year earlier, the company announced in a press release. Its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (ebitda) reached 129 million liras (around $67 million), a 49 percent increase in this period. Its customers increased from 13 million to 13.9 million, a 7 percent increase in the same period.The company grew by more than 13 percent last year.
