Cecilia Krull to meet Istanbul audience

ISTANBUL

Cecilia Krull, who is known for the song “My Life is Going On” on Netflix’s Spanish series “La Casa de Papel,” will take the stage at Istanbul’s Salon İKSV on Sept. 21 and Sept. 22.

Krull was born to a musician family and started singing at the age of seven. She sang for Disney Spanish, during which she met Manel Santisteban, the composer of “My Life is Going On” as well as others in many films and TV shows. Together, they have taken part in various productions for eight years. She has also collaborated with Juan Sebastian Trio and Ivan Sangüesa Trio in their albums.

It will be her first time in Istanbul to present songs from her debut album.

In an exclusive interview, Krull said when she started to work on the lyrics of “My Life Is Going On,” which is the song of the soundtrack, she saw images of the series and knew about the story and the characters.

“I had a feeling and knew it would be very good because it was not the first time I have worked with Alex Pina, the creator. His work is simply amazing. But we never expect that kind of huge success all around the world,” she said.

As for the secret of that success, she says the story is great. “But everything is done with passion,” said Krull.

The singer said she likes every character in the series. “I think one of the keys of success is that when you feel you can identify with them at a moment in your life. But I confess, I’m in love with Berlin,” she added.

If she had a role in “La Casa de Papel,” she said she would want to play the role of Nairobi.

Krull performed her first concert in Turkey on June 22 in the capital Ankara. She was asked about her first date with the Turkish audience.

“Ankara was simply fantastic. I really love the Turkish people; I took a lot of pictures with everyone and really appreciate the energy from the audience. I have so many friends from Turkey in Spain. I had always wished to come to Turkey. But I never imagined it would happen for a concert where I sang, which is my passion. It will be my first time in Istanbul, so I cannot believe my dreams are coming true,” the singer said.

Tickets for the concert can be purchased from Biletix sales channels and the box office at İKSV.
