Cadre applications for nearly 1 mln subcontracted workers start on Jan 2
ANKARA
Cadre applications for more than 950,000 subcontracted workers commenced on Jan. 2, in line with a recent state of emergency decree released on Dec. 24, 2017.
The applications will end on Jan. 11, according to a notice dated Jan. 1 by the Labor and Social Security Ministry.
After the authorities receive the applications, a commission will examine the candidates and announce who may proceed further.
Subcontracted workers will then be given the opportunity to appeal the announcement.
After the appeals are examined by the commission, a final list will be announced. The applicants may then retake the test, of which they must receive a minimum grade of 50 out of 100.
After the commission examines whether the appeals have passed or not, a list with the final cadre will be announced.
Successful candidates will grant their cadres on April 2, according to the ministry notice.
Some 450,000 Turkish subcontracted workers in the public sector will be offered permanent staff positions as part of the new plan, Minister Jülide Sarıeroğlu said on Dec. 24.
She added that intermediaries would also be abolished for 400,000 subcontracted workers at municipalities. Sarıeroğlu also said all of these workers’ wages would increase as they would no longer be hired through an intermediary but by the state itself.
