All 56 suspects, including four arrested military officials, were acquitted by a court as part of an ongoing military espionage case.

The case is investigating a series of charges against retired and active officials of the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK), as well as members of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK).

Fifty-six people were tried today in court; a high-ranking army official was sentenced to one year and four months in prison while a TÜBİTAK official was sentenced to two years and six months. Both were charged with "aiding the organization."

The investigation against the espionage gang started in 2009 after allegations arose that the gang reportedly targeted active-duty officers with knowledge of details about warcraft radar locations.
