Akyavaş painting to be sold for 1.2 million Liras

Contemporary artist Erol Akyavaş’s painting, ‘En-el Hak,’ reflects Sufism and mysticism. The painting is considered an iconic painting of contemporary Turkish art, reflecting Hallacı Mansur’s belief in Sufism and mysticism.A painting by contemporary Turkish artist Erol Akyavaş will be open to lot for 1.2 million Turkish liras in Antik A.Ş’s auction, which will be held on March 25 at Swissotel in Istanbul.
The painting, titled “En-el Hak,” reflects Sufism mysticism and is considered an iconic painting of contemporary Turkish art, reflecting Hallacı Mansur’s belief. The painting was in the Akyavaş family collection and will be displayed for the first time at the auction. The painting is oil on canvas, and 190 x 350 centimeters in dimension.
The paintings in the auction will first open to display ahead of the auction between March 16 and 24 at Antik Palace.
The auction will also contain previously unseen works of Orhan Peker, Abidin Dino and Avni Arbaş. Orhan Peker’s painting “The Garden of Sunflowers” will be open to lot for 350 thousand liras, while Abidin Dino’s works from 1940 to 1950 and Avni Arbaş’s Paris paintings will be available to bidders.
There will be an exclusive part of the auction displaying the works of the Turkish painters of the Ecole de Paris, containing Mübin Orhon, Nejad Melih Devrim and Fahrel Nissa Zeid.
Other prominent names in contemporary Turkish art will be sold during the auction, such as Burhan Doğançay, Ali Çelebi, Asım İşler, Cevat Dereli, Oya Zaim Katoğlu, Turgut Zaim, Ferruh Başağa, Mehmet Güleryüz, Adnan Çoker, Abdurrahman Öztoprak, Ömer Uluç, Komet, Ahmet Oran, Şadan Bezeyiş, Mustafa Ata, Özdemir Altan, Alaettin Aksoy, Ergin İnan, Neş’e Erdok and Nuri İyem.
Artists working in sculpture will also feature, such as Meriç Hızal, Seyhun Topuz and Kuzgun Acar. International artists will also be included, such as Laurence Jenkell, Julian Opie, Tom Wesselmann, Fernand Léger, Arman and Takashi Murakami.
