AKP MP revealed as holder of fake Twitter account with female name streaming charter talks on Periscope

ANKARA
AKP MP revealed as holder of fake Twitter account with female name streaming charter talks on Periscope A ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) lawmaker has been revealed as the holder of a fake Twitter account, which had been streaming discussions on the 18-item constitutional amendment package in the parliament live on Periscope using a female name.

The account named @yelizadeley raised doubts after streaming the second round of charter talks inside the parliament while sharing posts on main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) lawmakers on Periscope since there was no lawmaker with that name.

As the front-facing camera of the phone was mistakenly activated and entered the selfie mode, it was revealed that AKP deputy Ahmet Hamdi Çamlı was streaming the talks with a fake account using the female name Yeliz Adeley.

The fake account later raised tension between AKP and CHP deputies with some main opposition lawmakers mocking Çamlı by calling him Yeliz, and denouncing the move.

The fake Twitter account was later deactivated.
