Marriage proposal halts traffic on Istanbul bridge

A romantic gesture halted cars on the Bosphorus Bridge late yesterday, creating traffic jams all the way to Beşiktaş, according to daily Hürriyet.
 
Traffic was halted when a man stopped his car and stepped out at around 8:15 p.m. He then asked his girlfriend to marry him, offering her the ring.
 
Though the gesture was received positively by the object of his desire, Istanbul drivers were not so pleased.
 
Traffic jams continued all the way down to Beşiktaş well into the evening.
