The death toll from an Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) suicide bomb attack on a street wedding in the Şahinbey district of the southeastern province of Gaziantep has risen to 57, nearly two months after the attack, Doğan News Agency has reported.

A 13-year-old boy named Mahsun Nas, who was heavily wounded in the attack, succumbed to his injuries on Sept. 25 in hospital, bringing the number of children killed in the attack to 34.

More than 90 people were also wounded in the attack.

Speaking one day after the attack, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had said a child suicide bomber aged 12 to 14 from the jihadist group blew himself up in the suicide attack targeting the street wedding in the district.
The president also added on Sept. 23 that the child bomber was wearing a jersey bearing the name of star football player Lionel Messi and the bomb was attached to the child’s body and detonated remotely.
