The beautiful theater with the view of the sea is estimated to have a capacity of 3,000 people. Some 60 percent of the mostly intact structure has been unearthed so far, but the local administration is planning to open the amphitheater’s curtains to cultural events 2,500 years after it was built, just like the Aspendos amphitheater further west in Antalya. The amphitheater of the Ancient Greek city of Magarsus is finally being unearthed with frantic excavations performed by archeologists. Located in the southern province of Adana, Magarsus is one of the Greek towns that have passed widely unremarked, particularly compared to its hyped peers on the western Mediterranean or the Aegean Coast.
