LOCAL > 4.5 magnitude earthquake hits near Istanbul

ISTANBUL

An earthquake measuring 4.5 magnitude on the Richter scale hit Turkey’s Black Sea close to Istanbul at a depth of 10.7 kilometers, according to the Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute.

The earthquake happened at 2:44 p.m. and was felt strongly around the Marmara region.
