Gaza Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh described Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s prospective visit as "historic", adding that the Hamas government had already started the preparations. “We will host Erdoğan as Turkey and the Turkish people deserve,” Haniyeh was quoted as saying by Anatolia news agency.

Haniyeh also argued that Erdoğan had frustrated Washington’s efforts to prevent the visit. “The attitude shown by Erdoğan proves that the tutorship of the United States has come to an end,” he said.

Haniyeh added that he had not received any notification that Palestinan President Mahmoud Abbas would accompany Erdoğan on his visit to Gaza.

Erdoğan had announced that his Gaza visit would take place after his talks in Washington on May 16. For his part, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu had said that they hoped that the visit would happen after the reconciliation between Hamas and Fatah.

Ilkner. Hitler was also elected in democratic elections. Does that mean that his actions also can be justified?

Hamas was democractily elected by the Palenstinian people,,does that mean all one million and a half palenstinians in Gaza are terroists,? according to our Israeli frends they are.Thats why they set up the largest prison kamp in the World. set up by the Zionist, who deny the Palenstinians they basic human rights just like the Nazies during World war 11.Erdogan is being forced by America to normalise ties with these criminals who have no regard to palenstinian lifes.Resistance is all thats left.

From a global perspective, what additional damage can this trip possibly do? The region is already a mess. Erdogan is an non-violent Islamist, if he can even barely encourage non-violent Islamic activism, it will help. This is what Israeli right-wing fears the most - millions of Palestinians united in non-violent activism.

I don't want to hear any more from you know who about terrorists. He is supporting some of the worst himself. Talking out of both sides of your mouth is not good for ones credibility.

Hamas is an illegal organization in Gaza. Mahmoud Abbas (Fatah) is the legal authority in that sand box. Israel, the United States, Canada, the European Union, and Japan classify Hamas as a terrorist organization.

So Erdogan goes to the one country he is always damning and says are the cause of all problems in the world, and then of to visit Hamas a world recognized terrorist organization.

He is right that it is historic. Because as far as I can remember, it the first time a PM of the Republic of Turkey officially visits the leader of a Terrorist organisation. I really do not like this. Not at all. We have absolutely nothing to do with that conflict, but still, for religious reasons, Mr Erdogan visits a terrorist leader. Sure, he was elected, but so was for example Hitler. "Show me your friends and I can tell who you are" the world will say from now on about Turkey. Rreally bad.
